USB Setup - Windows Computers - TR4720

To be able to use the printer to print or scan via USB on a Windows computer, drivers and applications will need to be installed on the computer.

The instructions / screenshots below show how to prepare your computer to use the printer via USB.

Get the Setup File

Read the information carefully taking note how to run the setup file if setup does not start automatically. Then click the "Download" button.

  1. With the printer powered on, use a USB cable to connect the printer to your computer.

  2. Select your language, then click OK.

  3. Select your place of residence, then click OK.

  4. Select Start Setup.

    The installer will acquire information on the latest driver and software for your printer. This may take several minutes.

  5. Read the license agreement. Select Yes to proceed. If you click No, the installation will not proceed.

  6. Select Agree or Do Not Agree to the information request.

    This message appears if you selected Do not agree. Click OK to proceed.

    The installer will process for a few moments. Please wait.

  7. Click Next.

    The installer will search for the printer. This may take a few moments.

  8. Select your printer, then click Next.

  9. Select USB Connection (USB Cable), then click Next.

    The installer will ensure that the printer is connected to the computer.

    The installer will check for the latest software and drivers for the printer. Then, the MP Drivers will be downloaded and installed. This may take several minutes.

     The IJ Scan Utility will be installed along with the MP Drivers.

  10. After processing for a few moments, the installation will be complete. Click Next to proceed. If desired, you can click Test Print to print a test page.

  11. Click Go to Website to open a web browser, which will take you to the Canon website to download additional software for your printer.
